Honfleur – France

Photographer and journalist, born January 25, 1960 in the city of Banias in Syria, resident in France since 1982, resident in the city of Honfleur since 2021. Graduated from the Damascus School of Journalism, a profession that I practiced for a few years in Syria and Lebanon allowed me to discover, among other things, two passions: photography and travel. Arriving in France in 1982, I have worked in several professions that have opened the doors to other horizons, to cultures and civilizations from all over the world, to the point of not being bitter about my passion for photography, but also curious and adventurous towards nature. . In 2017 I started to learn the basic techniques on my own, then I followed training courses and workshops with several photographers, with whom I was able to learn and progress in the definitions that I had set myself, without ever leaving me alone, because each new dream is an opportunity to do well. Passionate about images and travel, photography has become my passport, my identity, because photos are fragments of our dreams, we extend them in our imagination in magical moments, which transport us beyond time, where dreams become reality. My multicultural vision of photography is the promise of another world, through images from different countries, an immersion in a creative and artistic universe devoid of audacity and imagination. Playing with paths, vertical and horizontal, the improbable is given the go-ahead to get as close as possible to the unexpected and transform it into variable geometry.

The Project

The world of books

My photographic project on reading (The world of books), with the 6 photos presented, is an approach that is as artistic as it is cultural and patrimonial. In all cultures, the book is presented as a symbol of learning, knowledge and intergenerational transmission. Cultural places, such as libraries and bookshops, are very rich, both in books and architecture, as fascinating as they are unique, with rows of treasures of books and works as far as the eye can see. Starting from this visual and emotional aspect, which was provoked by touching these books, especially the very old ones, I had the desire to create a series of photos that would represent the places of reading, of book conservation and the artistic creations that surround them. from the world of books. Since the dawn of time, man has found comfort and inspiration in the writings of others, thus expanding his knowledge and opening the doors to other worlds. My series of photos about reading aims to offer an escape and a journey through time.
