The Project

Grace in the Details.

Anhinga self-grooming practices play a vital role in the life of a bird as grooming. The graceful movements that the Anhinga makes with its beak while tending to its feathers become an essential behavior for maintaining insulation, waterproofing, and overall health. By preening their feathers, birds are able to remove debris and parasites, as well as straighten, smooth, and repair their feathers, which is important for flight. This is an important maintenance routine for survival in the natural world. It serves as a reminder of the universal need for self-care, inspiring viewers to appreciate these moments of quiet resilience in wildlife.
