The Project
The project takes shape in 2019 thanks or unfortunately to the Covid 19 pandemic. I believe that in that period of restriction and isolation, people finally had the chance to look inside themselves a little. Isolated from what might have been the daily grind we were used to, we instinctively began to realise how indispensable and necessary collective participation is for human beings. We tried to project our thoughts to a futuristic vision of well-being and collaboration. It was in this vision, leafing through old photo albums, that the Facebook group Pixel Photo Magazine took shape. The dormant passion for photography gives the start to the desire to create a common sharing place where people, albeit virtually, can meet and share their stories. A multi-ethnic citadel open to all, where different voices harmoniously merge and all are given equal importance. Memberships become important and the group alone is no longer enough: something more is needed to highlight people’s talents. The idea of the online magazine and website was born, and later the Visio Mentis exhibition. The network is created, everything else is ‘In Progress’.
Marcello Pitardi
As an amateur photographer, he approached the wonderful world of photography a few decades ago, when, during the transient work of the moment, he began to frequent the photo studio of a dear publicist friend. The transfiguration of the white sheet immersed in the basin full of acid coming to life captured and fascinated him. Being ‘curious’, discovering the languages of an ever-changing world make him a dreamer, in which the search for reality and the desire to understand its evolutionary processes is always present. A way of being, a way of posing. Trying as much as possible to be free of schemes to give space to emotions. Emotions that still today, in life as in his creations, allow him to tell something, leaving in all his stories a subtle trace of himself as confirmation of a concrete existence. Stories of a world in which it is easy to find personal feelings and experiences, images that tell their own story and observe us, leaving each individual photo the task of telling its own story. Simple visual expressions of emotions captured in time, imprinted and perceived by/in the viewer to lead the mind to tell its own story in the vision of the photos.

Ho partecipato alla mostra Visio Mentis organizzata da Marcello Pitardi. Devo complimentarmi con Marcello che è riuscito a far emergere emozioni e peculiarità differenti dagli stili ed i generi di ogni partecipante. Mi ha colpito molto la stampa delle opere stampate ad un ottima risoluzione e qualità oltre al loro formato che, assieme alla bravura ed alla miscellanea dei generi, hanno dato gran valore al tutto.
