The Project
Grace in the Details
Highlighting the ibis’s self-care practices. The critical role of grooming in a bird’s life, the ibis’s elegant and deliberate movements with its beak as it tends to its feathers, a behavior essential to maintaining insulation, waterproofing and overall health. By preening their feathers, birds are able to remove debris and parasites, as well as align, smooth and repair their feathers, which is important for flight. This is an important routine maintenance for survival in the natural world. It serves as a reminder of the universal need for self-care, inspiring viewers to appreciate these moments of quiet resilience in wildlife.
